Quiet please...

THE RULES

1. Initial image shall be supplied by referee, in-art-we-trust, from a selection of stock here on dA. This keeps the game in-house, as it were, and spreads the dA love around.

2. Serving player begins with this image. At least one element from original image must be used and can be any element, not just the focal point. The original image must be kept ie. duplicate it and use the duplicate for manipulation. This allows the next round to incorporate elements not used from the original image.

3. Each subsequent round must utilise something from the previous round, even as simple as something like a texture, composition or colour. This is to keep the match open and reliant on artists interpretation, instead of just reworking the same image over and over.

4. Anything can be used within the manip. All textures or stock must be from dA. Any filters can be used.

5. Each round must be posted to dA as a flattened jpeg. As such, each image must adhere to the dA submission policy. In the description must be links to any dA stock used. As a courtesy, could you also leave a comment on the devpage of the person who's stock you used, pointing them to your deviation. Submitting to scraps is fine, if you feel the deviation doesn't belong in your gallery.

6. Players will exchange e-mail addresses to bounce psd files back and fore. All psd files must have the layers intact, to allow players to utilise rule 2. All text must be rasterized, incase players do not have custom fonts utilised in the dev installed. This allows players to look at your image and work out how you achieved the image without writing a tutorial. feel free to give details if you wish.

7. Please note the referee in-art-we-trust when you have posted your round. This will allow him to post the progression of the game in journals.

8. To try to keep things flowing, each player has one week to complete their round. No extensions. If you do not post, you will be deemed to have forfeit. Even if you are not happy with the image, please post it regardless.

9. A game will last 10 rounds (5 per player)

10. The most important rule - HAVE FUN! There are no prizes at the moment, except being featured in in-art-we-trust's journal (which isn't much but it's something).

This seems a lot of rules, but if you read them they're not that complex. Basically, these games are primarily a collaboration between artists. As such, I am going to try to pair people up with contrasting styles to encourage experimentation and sharing of knowledge. I hope you all play in the spirit of what I am trying to achieve here.
